VANISHED

Now its over, You've taken your life
The dark grows thin and I'm left to hide
I don't regret it but its sad anyway
Now were both dead and scared of the black
This life of games and diligent trust
It's the things we do or the things we must
I'm now tired of being cussed
So go sleep forever end to dust.

VAN SHE

"Your lips taste the same but I don't know you"
“Well that song has such a nice vibe to it and the
harmonies in the lah lah lah section are so warm
and care free, then it drops into that beautiful
tube/tape sounding guitar which leaves you in this
gap of contemplation and you just sit there with
your headphones on going ” laaa lalaaalala “.
We also chose it because a lot of people i know
think the song is quite gothic and proggy, which
it is due to blue oysters style, but i also think
the song is very amazing lyrically and beautiful
and i guess it didn’t feel like it totally comes
across in their version unless you read the lyrics.
So i thought we could do a version that sounded
like what we interpreted the lyrics to be…
romantic and deep and uplifting as well. We love
the song a lot as well which also had something to
do with it.” – Van She

PHOENIX

FRIDAY
MARCH 5th
FESTIVAL HALL!
I've never been so damn excited in my entire life
to finally see Phoenix live. Even if I died
(touch wood) the next day I know I would have died
the happiest women alive. Here are my three
favourite the most modern and popular... 1901
Lisztomania & Fences! <3

CHIDDY BANG

"I once was kid, with all the other kids"
Many thanks to Toby for introducing me to this

WE HAVE BAND

WHAOOOOO!
The amount of time and effort they put into
making these videos is incredible... Although I'm
definitely freaked by the moving googley eyes and
painted talking mouths. As for the second video
I was intrigued in the first 2 seconds, Cleverly
lighting up different parts of the body for
every beat! Trippy kewl...

MIKA

"Blame it on me or blame it on you"
I remember this song was Europes biggest hit a
few years ago when I went on a trip overseas.
Every radio station would have it playing
easily every time I turned it on. You name it,
it was there... TV, designer shops, markets
even churches! Well maybe not churches but
seriously it was everywhere. I remember when I
was on the back of a zooming vespa screaming
till my lungs bled and all my cousin responded
with was 'Relax, Take it easy' Cmon he wasn't
even Australian! Anyway, my point is that this
song by the wild, fun, peculiar MIKA makes you
feel so free just perfect for setting a content/
rejuvenated mood :)

ALI LOVE

"The first one was the best but went way too fast
You keep your options open your love wont last
The picture lost distinction along the way
Now all thats left to look at is a hollow frame
And now my mind burns, When will I change?
When will I ever learn?"
Seriously, I have no idea who this dude is and
what other songs he makes, if they are good bad
crap or whack. All I know is that this song here
is without a doubt one of my favourite songs and
has been on repeat ever since we first met!
Mainly because of the way the lyrics instantly
captured me, his vocals with a slow backdrop beat
and then out of nowhere some energizing synths!
It really had me questioning so many things and it
still does. I even dig the 'dye poured in water'
effect they have going on in this video. So great!

So I came across these guys somewhere in hiding and
I'm more than glad that I did because they are
seriously so incredible. This remix of Magic by
Ladyhawke is my favourite, so nice I could listen
for days.

EARTH, WIND, FIRE

Do you remember, the 21st night of September?
Greatest remix of September by the amazing 70's
funk band Earth, Wind, Fire. Such an energizing
spirit lifting, way hyped song!
Here is one of their originals Let's Groove. They
sure as hell chose the perfect name for it because
that's exactly what it makes you wanna do. With
it's ridiculously funky feel and catchy lyrics!
Honestly all I can say is I wish I brought up in
this disco era ahhh!

BELONG

Typical 80's Aerobic/Jazz dressed women, who do
they think they are? I'm definitely convinced they
have the wrong vibe going on here, they should be
in a "wannabe groove" clip instead. I guess I could
maybe get used to it however in the mean time this
song for me brings such a flying feel to it that it
seems someone is reaching out to to someone spesh.
I love it, again a song that has this soothing
ability to lengthen your inner self.

MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS

"You've been acting awful tough lately,
smoking a lot of cigarettes lately,
but inside you're just a little baby..."
This is quite an old track which has was always in
my most played list. Gee I must have really liked
it back in the day, come to think of it i still do
enjoy it now. Starsmith's version has more of a
calming feel to it that you could simply doze away
into and venture off into this enormous thinking
field. The lyrics are really honest, relatable and
comforting in an odd kind of way.
